PIXEL

PIXEL

About>

The brief for this project was to design a custom typeface inspired by a building structure in Dunedin. While exploring the city and its outskirts, I discovered an old supermarket in Aramoana with sharp, straight architectural lines. This inspired me to create a typeface characterised by its angular, boxy design, completely devoid of curves.

This project presented a significant challenge as it was my first time designing a typeface from scratch. However, the process was both rewarding and insightful, resulting in a typeface I named Pixel. The name reflects its futuristic, pixelated aesthetic, evoking imagery of outer space and digital design. To complement the typeface, I designed a poster that showcased its unique style and application.
